NTPC rises after commissioning the first part of Jetsar Solar PV Project
The latest development brings the installed as well as the commercial capacity of NTPC and NTPC group to 53572.5 MW and 66997.5 MW respectively.
NTPC Limited, an Indian statutory corporation engaged in the generation of electricity and allied activities, announced this morning that the first part capacity of 80 MW of 160 MW Jetsar Solar PV Project, which is located in Rajasthan, has been declared on commercial operation with effect from October 22, 2021.
Incorporated in 1975, the company is India’s largest energy conglomerate which was set up to accelerate power development in India. Today, NTPC is a dominant power major and has a presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. From fossil fuels, it has ventured into the generation of electricity via hydro, nuclear and renewable energy sources. This venture will play a major role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and thereby, reducing its carbon footprint.

At 2.22 pm, the share price of NTPC Ltd was trading at Rs 136.35, which is an increase of 1.53 per cent from the previous day’s closing price of Rs 134.30 on BSE.
