Multibagger Update: Shares of these NBFCs gained 5,900 per cent in just three years! Do you own any?

Nifty Financial Services index has lost 2.69 per cent on a YTD basis whereas BSE Finance index dropped 3.83 per cent. Looking at the returns of the past three years, Nifty Financial Services index has gained 34.25 per cent vis-à-vis S&P BSE Financial Services, which climbed 27.31 per cent. 

In India, the BFSI sector, which consists of the banking, financial services & insurance industries, is estimated to be worth Rs 81 lacs crore. It is expected to become the fifth-largest in the world by 2020 and the third-largest by 2025. As of September 2019, there are 94,384 rural cooperative banks in India along with 1,542 urban cooperative banks, 18 public sector banks, 22 private sector banks, 46 foreign banks, 53 regional rural banks, and 18 private sector banks.  

In FY19, public sector banks accounted for 61.21 per cent of all banking assets. The total assets in the public & private banking sectors were $1.42 lakhs crore and $74179 crore, respectively, in FY19. India is ranked the highest globally in the FinTech adoption rate, after China.

Shares of Bajaj Finserv increased more than 10% and made a fresh 52-week high at Rs 15,298.60 on the BSE, after the company's board approved a 1:1 bonus issue and a 1:5 stock split on Thursday,The board approved the split of each current equity share with a face value of Rs. 5 into five fully paid-up equity shares with a face value of Rs. 1 on July 28, 2022. The board also authorised the issuance of bonus equity shares with a face value of one rupee each for every rupee one equity share.
