Mid-day movers: Why Arvind Ltd, Hindustan Unilever and JK Cement are the BSE top gainers?

Shares of Arvind Ltd., Hindustan Unilever and JK cement have rallied in today’s trading session.

While markets opened high, as of noon, BSE Sensex was 2.32 per cent up. 

Arvind Ltd zooms more than 8 per cent 

Arvind Limited rallied more than 8 per cent after the announcement that its operations have fully resumed at the Ankur unit. Operations at the Ankur unit had been disrupted due to the disconnection of the effluent discharge connection in November 2021. The stock hit a high price of Rs 126.40 and a low of Rs 119.45 during the session. 

JK Cement Ltd has jumped more than 7 per cent 

JK Cement Ltd is engaged in the manufacturing and selling of cement and cement related products. The share price of the company has increased by 7.71 per cent in the first half of today's trading session. Recently, the company has announced its entry into the paints business via a wholly-owned subsidiary. The company is looking to invest Rs 600 crore over the first five years and aims to clock revenues of Rs 850 crore during the same period.

Hindustan Unilever Ltd gained more than 5 per cent 

Hindustan Unilever is in the FMCG business comprising primarily of Home Care, Beauty & Personal Care and Foods & Refreshment segments. The share price of the company has jumped 5.55 per cent in the first half of today's trading session after the announcement of key changes to the management committee. Madhusudhan Rao has been appointed as Executive Director, Beauty & Wellbeing and Personal Care, while Deepak Subramanian has been named as Executive Director, Home Care. The stock is in a downtrend for the past one week, decreasing more than 7 per cent from Rs 2,283.15 on February 10, 2022, to Rs 2,108.65 on March 10, 2022.
