After recovering from a steep fall on Monday, some consolidation is expected at the current levels.

The global equities rallied on Wednesday after discounting the Brexit deal development. European equities recorded decent gains with German DAX outperforming its peers. DJIA was up by more than 100 points after shedding some gains. Tech stocks saw some profit booking while financial and energy stocks rallied in the US markets.

Asian markets are seen gaining ground on Thursday on the back of global optimism. The US stimulus and Brexit trade deal are two positives, influencing the global equities even as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the western world.

SGX Nifty, up by more than 1 per cent, is indicating a soft opening for markets today.
