Markets open on a weak note, midcap and smallcap indices slide over 1 per cent!

Market Update at 9:35 AM: On Friday, Indian markets opened on a negative note, with both Nifty and Sensex showing negative movement. Nifty IT led the gains, while Nifty Realty was the biggest laggard.
As of now, the Sensex is down by 0.26 per cent, hovering around 82,275, and Nifty is down by 0.28 per cent, trading near 25,180. However, in the broader market performed, the Nifty Midcap is down by 1.18 per cent to approximately 58,340, and the Nifty Smallcap is down by 1.09 per cent, trading near 18,750.
India VIX rose by 4 per cent and is trading at 13.70, indicating a rise in market volatility.
Within the sectoral landscape only Nifty IT is among the Top Gainers while Nifty Realty and Nifty Media and Nifty MID SELECT are the sectors which are underperforming.
ONGC, SBILIFE and INDUSINDBK are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while BPCL, HEROMOTOCO, and BAJFINANCE are among the Top Losers.
About 515 stocks are advancing as against to 1,730 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Pre-Market Update at 7:45 AM: US stocks closed lower on Thursday as investors awaited Friday's monthly payrolls report and monitored the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
Thursday’s data showed a slight increase in unemployment claims, while Hurricane Helene and ongoing port strikes may impact the labor market in the short term.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 184.93 points (0.44 per cent) to 42,011.59, the S&P 500 slipped 9.58 points (0.17 per cent) to 5,699.96, and the Nasdaq Composite edged down 6.65 points (0.04 per cent) to 17,918.48.
The GIFT Nifty is trading lower, signaling a negative opening for the day. Nifty futures are currently trading at 25,619.00.
Early Friday trade saw the US 10-year Treasury yield decline by 20 basis points to 3.83 per cent, while the 2-year bond yield fell 33 basis points to 3.69 per cent.
Oil prices edged higher in early Asian trade on Friday, maintaining strong weekly gains as investors balanced Middle East tensions with a well-supplied global market. Brent crude rose 9 cents (0.12 per cent) to $77.71 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate gained 8 cents (0.11 per cent) to $73.79 a barrel.
