Foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 1,030.90 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) offloaded shares worth Rs 365.20 crore on June 19.

Market Update at 3:30 PM: Sensex closes higher by 0.25 per cent while Nifty also closes on a higher note by 0.33 per cent each.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap surged by 0.49 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.

India VIX has plunged by 0.89 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Auto and Nifty IT were among the top gainers while Nifty Media and Nifty Pharma were among the top losers towards the end of the day.

HDFC Life, Tata Motors and HCL Tech were among the top gainers while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Sun Pharma were among the top losers from the Nifty 50 towards the end of the day.

About 1104 stocks were advancing as against to 845 stocks that were declining. Thus, indicating a slight positive sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:25 PM: Sensex and Nifty trade marginally lower 0.06 per cent and 0.01 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap surged by 0.26 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 0.36 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty IT are among the top gainers while Nifty Media, Nifty Bank and Nifty Pharma are among the top losers.

HDFC Life, Tata Motors and HCL Tech are among the top gainers while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and M&M are among the top losers.

About 1086 stocks were advancing as against to 854 stocks that were declining. Thus, indicating a slight positive sentiment in the broader market.

India VIX has surged by 1.51 per cent.

Nifty PSU Bank is among the top gainers while Nifty Auto, Nifty Media and Nifty Realty are among the top losers.

SBI Life, Tata Consumer and Britannia are among the top gainers while Bajaj Finance, M&M and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers.

About 1008 stocks were advancing as against to 809 stocks that were declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:15 AM: As the US market anticipated a shortened week of trading due to the upcoming holiday, stock futures moved downwards on Monday evening. Futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 93 points while S&P 500 futures retreated by 0.2 per cent. Similarly, Nasdaq 100 futures experienced a decline of 0.18 per cent. Markets were closed for the regular trading session on Monday due to the Juneteenth holiday.

On Monday, global oil prices experienced a decline of over $1, reversing the gains seen in the previous week. Brent crude dropped by $1.15, reaching a trading price of $75.46. In futures trading, the Dollar index edged up by 0.06 per cent to reach 102.53, while the value of one dollar remained around Rs 81.98.

Foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 1,030.90 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) offloaded shares worth Rs 365.20 crore on June 19.

On June 20, the market is expected to open slightly lower as indicated by the SGX Nifty, which shows a negative start for the benchmark indices with a decline of 48.5 points. The session began at 18,827 points, and in early trade, SGX futures reached a high of 18,828.

Stocks that banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 20, 2023, are Delta Corp, HAL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, India Cements, L&T Finance Holdings, Manappuram, Tata Chemicals and Zee Entertainment.
