On July 4, foreign institutional investors (FII) purchased shares valued at Rs 2,134.33 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) offloaded shares valued at Rs 785.48 crore.

Market Update at 3:40 PM: Sensex closes marginally lower by 0.05 per cent below 65,500 level while Nifty closes marginally higher by 0.05 per cent above 19,300 level.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap close on a higher note by 0.71 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 1.54 per cent.

Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG and Nifty PSU Bank were among the top gainers while Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Bank were among the top losers.

Bajaj Auto, Hero Motocorp and Divi’s Laboratories were among the top gainers while Eicher Motors, HDFC and HDFC Bank were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1185 stocks were advancing as against 755 stocks that were declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

European markets are set for a lower opening on Wednesday, as investors assess the latest sign that China’s economic rebound is stuttering.

Indusind Bank, HDFC Life and Divi’s Laboratories are among the top gainers while Wipro, HDFC and HDFC Bank are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1337 stocks are advancing as against 552 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:00 AM: On July 4 Sensex closed higher by 0.42 per cent above 65,400 level while Nifty closed higher by 0.34 per cent above 19,300 level.

On Wednesday, oil prices experienced a decline, offsetting the gains from the previous day. Concerns about a potential global economic slowdown impacting fuel demand overshadowed the anticipation of reduced supply resulting from production cuts declared by major exporters Saudi Arabia and Russia for August. Brent crude saw a decrease of 14 cents, equivalent to 0.2 per cent, reaching $76.11 per barrel.

On Wednesday, the GIFT Nifty is indicating steady opening for the benchmark indices, showing an increase of 19.50 points. The futures are currently at 19,513.

Stock that is banned for trading in the F&O segment on July 5, 2023, is Indiabulls Housing Finance.

LTIMindtree, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, will replace HDFC in the Nifty 50 index from July 13, following HDFC's merger with HDFC Bank.
