On August 4, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 556.32 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 366.61 crore

Market Update at 3:40 PM: Sensex closes higher by 0.35 per cent while Nifty closes higher by 0.41 per cent.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap closes higher by 0.51 per cent and 0.22 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 5.01 per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty IT and Nifty Realty were among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Bank and Nifty Media were among the top losers.

M&M, Divi’s Laboratories and SBI Life were among the top gainers while Britannia, SBIN and Baja Auto were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1256 stocks were advancing as against to 697 stocks that were declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:20 PM: Sensex and Nifty trade higher by 0.36 per cent higher each.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.31 per cent and 0.3 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 5.01 per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty IT and Nifty Realty are among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Bank and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

M&M, Divi’s Laboratories and Sun Pharma are among the top gainers while Britannia, SBIN and Tata Motors are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1120 stocks are advancing as against to 885 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:40 PM: Sensex and Nifty have surged by 0.28 per cent each.

Nifty Midcap trades higher by 0.23 per cent while Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.31 per cent.

European markets are set to open in green as futures of DAX and FTSE are up by 0.11 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 5.39 per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty Auto and Nifty IT are among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

India VIX has surged by 6.72 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty IT and Nifty Auto are among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG are among the top losers.

M&M, Grasim and Hindalco are among the top gainers while Britannia, Cipla and ITC are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1271 stocks are advancing as against to 599 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:45 AM: Stock futures showed modest gains on Sunday night as investors prepared for a week that includes corporate earnings and important inflation readings. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures increased by 0.1 per cent, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures rose by around 0.2 per cent and 0.3 per cent, respectively.

Oil prices surged by over a dollar per barrel on Friday. This increase was fuelled by Saudi Arabia and Russia's decision to extend supply cuts through September, intensifying concerns about undersupply in the market. Brent crude futures saw a rise of USD 1.10 settling at USD 86.24 per barrel. Concurrently, the Dollar index experienced a decline of 0.53 per cent in futures trading, reaching 102.01, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.68.

The GIFT Nifty is signalling a slightly positive opening for the benchmark indices, with an increase of 43 points, following a 135-point gain in Nifty, which closed at 19,517 points on August 4. The GIFT Nifty futures are currently at 19,605 points.

On August 4, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 556.32 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 366.61 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on August 7, 2023, are GNFC, Hindustan Copper, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Piramal Enterprises Ltd.
