Pre-Market Update at 7:55 AM: U.S. stock futures inched higher on Tuesday night. S&P 500 futures increased by 0.1 per cent, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose by nearly 0.1 per cent, and Nasdaq 100 futures advanced by 0.1 per cent. In the regular session, the S&P 500 gained 1.9 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite surged about 2.4 per cent, marking the best day for both indexes since April. The 30-stock Dow added 1.4 per cent. These gains followed lower-than-expected consumer price index data for October, a key inflation measure.
The GIFT Nifty suggests a slightly bearish commencement for the benchmark indices, reflecting a decline of 15 points. GIFT Nifty futures reached 19,731 points after reaching a peak of 19,760 points.
Oil prices strengthened on Tuesday following the International Energy Agency's upward revision of demand growth forecasts.
