Market Wrap: Benchmark and Broader indices close on a mixed note!

On July 24, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 82.96 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 934.87 crore.

Market Update at 4:00 PM: Sensex closed marginally lower by 0.04 per cent while Nifty closed higher by 0.04 per cent.

Nifty Midcap closes higher by 0.39 per cent while Nifty Smallcap closes lower by 0.11 per cent.

India VIX has plunged by 12.10 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Media and Nifty Energy were among the top gainers while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty and Nifty PSU Bank were among the top losers.

Hindalco, JSW Steel and Tata Steel were among the top gainers while Asian Paints, ITC and L&T were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 934 stocks were advancing as against to 1028 stocks that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap trades marginally higher by 0.11 per cent and Nifty Smallcap trades marginally lower by 0.05 per cent.

India VIX has plunged by 11.33 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Auto and Nifty Energy are among the top gainers while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Media and Nifty PSU Bank are among the top losers.

Hindalco, JSW Steel and Tata Steel are among the top gainers while Asian Paints, Britannia and Kotak Bank are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 983 stocks are advancing as against to 992 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a neutral sentiment in the broader market.

About 1091 stocks are advancing as against to 849 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap opens higher by 0.45 per cent and Nifty Smallcap opens higher by 0.53 per cent.

India VIX has plunge by 9.01 per cent.

Pre-Market Update at 8:00 AM: Despite the market rally, investors are cautiously awaiting the Federal Reserve's policy decision scheduled for Wednesday. During regular trading, the Dow Jones recorded its 11th consecutive winning session, adding over 0.5 per cent. It reached its highest level since April 2022 and closed at its highest point since February 2022. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also saw gains, rising by 0.4 per cent and 0.2 per cent, respectively.

Oil prices climbed on Monday due to reduced supply and optimism about potential Chinese stimulus, pushing Brent crude above USD 80 a barrel. However, traders anticipated further interest rate increases from central banks in the US and Europe. Brent crude futures rose by 1.1 per cent to USD 81.98 per barrel. Simultaneously, the Dollar index traded 0.20 per cent higher in futures at 101.28, and the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 81.80.

On Tuesday, the benchmark indices are expected to open flat, as indicated by the GIFT Nifty, with a gain of 33 points. The futures are currently at 19,736.

On July 24, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 82.96 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 934.87 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on July 25, 2023, are Canara Bank, Delta Corp, Indiabulls Housing Finance, RBL Bank and PNB.
