Market Update: NIFTY REALTY is the best performer; these companies are scaling 52-week high
NIFTY HEALTHCARE INDEX is the worst-performing sector.
The US market was closed yesterday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and hence there were no global cues as such. However, Nifty 50 opened in green in today’s trade at 18337.2 against the previous close of 18308.1, which means a gap up of 29.1 points. Currently, it is trading at 18216.25 down by more than 80 points. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 41.0 are trading below their previous close and 9.0 are trading above yesterday's close. In today’s trade, more stocks in Nifty are trading in favour of declines. Overall as well we see that more stocks are trading in red.
A better number posted by many real estate companies has helped this sector to outperform. In the morning session, the best performing index is NIFTY REALTY, it is up by 0.43 per cent. This is followed by NIFTY BANK, which is up by 0.34 per cent. The worst performing index currently (10:27 am) is NIFTY HEALTHCARE INDEX. It is down by -1.38 per cent. Out of the total 20.0 companies forming part of the index, 18.0 companies are trading in red, 2.0 are trading in green.
