Market Update: NIFTY FMCG is the best performing sector; these companies are scaling new high

NIFTY PSU BANK is the worst-performing sector.

After getting a negative handover from the US market, the Indian equity benchmark, Nifty 50 opened in red as well at 17613.7 against the previous close of 17757.0, which means a gap down of -143.3 points. Currently, it is trading at 17646.35. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 35.0 are trading below their previous close and 15.0 are trading above yesterday's close. In today’s trade, more stocks in Nifty are trading in favour of declines. Overall as well, we can see that more stocks are trading in the red. 

 

In today’s trade, the best performing index is NIFTY FMCG it is up by 0.72 per cent helped by a better number from industry leader HUL. This is followed by NIFTY AUTO, which is up by 0.22 per cent. The worst performing index currently 10:12 is NIFTY PSU BANK. It is down by -1.7 per cent. Out of the total 13.0 companies forming part of the index, 12.0 companies are trading in the red.
