Market movers: Metal is todays biggest gainer amid flat market sentiments

The day’s gainers which showed a substantial move are Spandana Sphoorty Financial and DCM Shriram and Hindustan Copper Ltd.

Amid much volatility, the benchmark indices Sensex traded range bound and closed flat at 58644.82 with a marginal loss of 0.24 per cent or 143 points while the Nifty closed at 17516.30 with a loss of 0.25% or 44 points.

The broader markets trade mixed with BSE 500 closing at 23966.56 with a loss of 0.33 per cent. The day’s movers were Oil and Gas, Metal stocks and the defensive FMCG stocks while the day’s laggards were led by Auto and PSU stocks. 

The day’s gainers which showed a substantial move are Spandana Sphoorty Financial and DCM Shriram and Hindustan Copper Ltd. 

Spandana Sphoorty Financial Ltd showed recovery after shedding 6.89 per cent in yesterday’s trading session. Today the stock showed an upside move of 8.82 per cent recovering from yesterday’s losses. The stock logged a day’s high of Rs433.90 and a low of Rs 371.30.

DCM Shriram Ltd gained 7.73 per cent in today’s trading session to close at Rs 1198.30. The intraday high and low for the stock was at Rs 1200 and Rs 1112.30. The stock is nearing its 52-week high of Rs 1249.95 on October 19, 2021. 

Hindustan Copper Ltd gained 6.18 per cent despite weakness in PSU stocks as buoyancy was seen in metal stocks. The stock closed at Rs 137.50 with an intraday high and low of Rs 138.40 and Rs 129.50.
