L&T's construction arm bags orders worth Rs 2112 crore
The construction arm of heavyweight Larsen & Toubro bagged orders worth Rs 2112 crore on Thursday. The company’s buildings and factories business secured orders worth Rs. 1565 crore, while its power transmission and distribution business won orders worth Rs 547 crore.
The company’s building and factories business won the order from Airport Authority of India for the modernisation of Chennai Airport. The modernisation project will be completed in two phases, which will involve the construction of basement, completion of finishing work and electro-mechanical works in the passenger terminal. The order won by its power transmission and distribution is for the turnkey construction of EHV sub-stations.
On Thursday, the company's stock hit an intra-day high of Rs 1347.45 and an intra-day low of Rs 1327.65 and closed at Rs 1338.65, higher by 0.86 per cent, on the BSE. The stock had touched its 52-week high of Rs 1,469.60 on February 1, 2018, and its 52-week low of Rs 1,108.12 on June 30, 2017 on the BSE, respectively.
Meanwhile, S&P BSE Sensex closed at 34,663.11 level, higher by 0.93 per cent. NSE Nifty50 index ended at 10,513.85 level, higher by 0.80 per cent.
