L&T uses artificial intelligence to help cities combat COVID-19
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has come up with new innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence to help the local authorities in monitoring and implementing measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.
L&T Smart World Communication, a business unit of Larsen & Toubro, has rolled out smart technology solutions, which will provide services like tracking the infection online, monitoring it online as well as managing communication and responses via various digital platforms.
CEO and MD of Larsen & Toubro, S N Subrahmanyan informed that the company is working with various city administrations and state governments in order to effectively manage complex civic functions in metropolitan cities.
The company stated that it has devised an innovative way to help the police in enforcing restriction in 20 cities with the help of artificial intelligence-based vehicle movement restriction along with crowd formation analytics to help them with real-time alerts. L&T is also using machine learning-based automated number plate recognition (ANPR) system to monitor vehicle locations continuously. The company has also deployed over 200 cameras for this purpose.
At the time of market closing on Thursday, the stock of L&T was trading at Rs 812.35, up by 0.58 per cent against its previous close of Rs 807.65. Its 52-week high is Rs 1,606.70 and its 52-week low is Rs 661.05 on BSE.
