L&T profit increases 23 per cent YoY
Larsen & Toubro reported its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2018 on Wednesday. The company's consolidated revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 32080.83 crore as against Rs. 26446.76 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering 21 per cent yoy increase.
The increase in revenue was led by improved execution in project businesses and strong growth in service businesses. The International revenue during the quarter stood at Rs. 10,630 crore, constituting 33 per cent of the total revenue.
The EBITDA for the quarter rose by 27.3 per cent yoy to Rs. 3,770.53 crore as against Rs. 2,962.18 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, with a margin expansion of 55 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 11.8 per cent.
The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 2,230.49 crore as against Rs. 1,819.88 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, yoy increase of 23 per cent.
The company has witnessed a strong growth of 46 per cent, with order wins worth Rs. 41,921 crore at the group level during the quarter led by pick-up in domestic ordering activity. International orders stood at Rs. 8,268 crore, constituting 20 per cent of the total order inflow.
The consolidated order book stood at Rs. 281,166 crore as at September 30, 2018. International Order Book constituted 22 per cent of the total Order Book. The break-up of order book for various segments are shown in the below table.
On Wednesday, the stock opened at Rs. 1,267 per share and made an intraday high and low of Rs. 1,303 and Rs. 1,250 per share, respectively and finally closed at Rs. 1,298.35 on the BSE.
