L&T power transmission & water treatment businesses welcome orders from prestigious clients

L&T on Thursday announced that two of its segments namely, power transmission & distribution and water & effluent treatment business have secured orders from prestigious clients. 

The order in the power transmission & distribution sector involves two transmission line packages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia involving design, procurement, and construction of 380kV double circuit overhead transmission line corridors for a length of more than 650 km. These lines are expected to strengthen the grid in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia and facilitate power evacuation. 

Another order from water & effluent treatment business is an EPC order in the state of Gujarat to execute a package in the SAUNI Yojna Link 3. Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) is a project by the government to fill various reservoirs by diverting floodwaters overflowing from Sardar Sarovar Dam across the Narmada River to drought areas of Gujarat. The project includes survey, design, procurement, laying, and jointing of 2,500 mm diameter MS pipeline. Four packages in this Sauni Yojana have already been completed for the same client. 

L&T is a pioneer in the Indian construction & mining machinery industry. It is engaged in the distribution and support of equipment such as hydraulic excavators, rear dump trucks, crawler dozers, wheel loaders, etc. 

The stock of L&T ended Thursday’s session at Rs 1,287.55, down by 0.31 per cent. Its 52-week high is Rs 1,383.85 while the 52-week low is Rs 661.05 on BSE.
