L&T Construction bags domestic contracts up to Rs 2,500 crore for various businesses
On Tuesday, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its construction arm had secured orders for two of its businesses.
The company’s water and effluent treatment business, under L&T Construction, has secured an EPC project to execute individual rural water supply in Kendrapara and Khorda districts of Odisha. This order was received by the rural water supply and sanitation department of the state, which is a regular client of the company.
The scope of this project won by the company includes the design and construction of intake structures, four water treatment plants, supplying & laying transmission and distribution pipelines along with associated electromechanical and instrumentation works.
In addition to this, L&T also secured a repeat order from the Water Resources Department of Odisha to construct an intake structure and pressure main along the right bank of Bargarh Main Canal of Gangadhar Meher Lift Irrigation Project in Bijepur (Odisha) on EPC-turnkey basis. Meanwhile, the factories arm of the business has secured an order from a leading cement manufacturer in India to construct a 10,000 TPD Integrated Cement Plant in Pali, Rajasthan.
Although the company did not specify the exact consideration for these projects, it has in its press release to BSE, classified these orders under the ‘significant’ category, placing them between Rs 1,000 crore-Rs 2,500 crore.
The shares of Larsen & Toubro closed at Rs 1,461, down by 1.56 per cent or Rs 23.15 per share, against a 0.06 per cent decline in the benchmark index.
