L&T construction arm bags large contracts across its various businesses; stock gains

Engineering and construction industry leader, Larsen & Toubro’s construction arm announced on Wednesday that it has secured multiple orders across its various businesses from esteemed clients. The contract ranges from Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore.

Commercial and residential spaces arm of buildings & factories business bagged orders from reputed developers to construct a residential project and an office space in Mumbai. Besides, the company's factory arm received an order to design and construct a warehousing logistics park in Mumbai. In addition to that, it also secured a prestigious order for the construction of a 4,000 thermal design power (TPD) capacity clinker plant in Odisha with a completion period of 24 months. Furthermore, the business also received an additional order for its ongoing projects in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

The company’s water & effluent treatment business secured three orders. The first is an order from Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board for providing 24x7 surface-based water supplies to Patiala town (Punjab). The second order is from Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited for the design, construction, and operation of Navda to Chavand bulk water transmission pipeline project in Gujarat. The third is a repeat order from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board for the construction of ground-level reservoirs with associated work.

Moreover, the company’s transportation infrastructure business arm secured an order from National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for manufacturing, supplying, installation, and testing & commissioning of pre-cast ballastless slab track system along with, associated works for the Delhi-Meerut section. The track will be constructed for a design speed of 180kmph and is expected to be completed in 42 months.

At 12.30 pm today, the share was trading at Rs 922.3 with gains of 0.55 per cent on BSE.
