Mutual fund investing is split into two phases: accumulation and distribution. We will highlight the best funds for distribution period in this article. So keep your eyes peeled!

When it comes to mutual funds, there are usually two phases: accumulation and distribution. During the accumulation phase, you invest with a time horizon in mind, which allows you to arrange your Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) properly. You'd be in the distribution phase after you'd achieved the chosen time horizon.

The important thing to remember is that the distribution phase might be either a one-time or a protracted endeavour. Let's say you're saving money for your child's graduation degree, which is ten years away. So, after ten years, your distribution period will come to an end when you take your investments and pay for your college expenses. The distribution phase, on the other hand, might be long-term when it comes to retirement or if you're looking for a consistent income for a certain amount of time.

However, it is relatively simple to prepare for a one-time distribution phase. Nevertheless, when it comes to the long-term distribution phase, things become more problematic. In such cases, the Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) can help. SWP is simply a tool that allows you to withdraw the accumulated money at regular intervals until the set timeframe or until the balance in such investments reaches zero, whichever comes first.

The most difficult step for mutual fund investors is determining which fund is best for SWP. This question cannot have a single answer. This is dependent on your needs. If you want this income for basic needs, it is better to invest in a decent mix of debt mutual funds. If you need consistent income in retirement, you should invest in either a strong combination of equity and debt mutual funds or a good mix of Hybrid Funds.

In this post, we have highlighted the finest mutual funds for SWP.
