On a YTD basis, BSE Sensex has given only 5.1 per cent return closing at 50,193.33 on May 18, 2021 as against 47,751.33 on December 31, 2020.
However, BSE IT index has surged 9.58 per cent to 26,571.84 on May 18, 2021 from 24,248.26 as on December 31, 2020.
BSE IT index consist of 51 companies. Of them, 40 companies have delivered positive returns and only 11 companies delivered negative returns. Of those 40 companies, 17 managed to deliver more than 30 per cent returns till date on a YTD basis.
