Laurus Labs donate tablets & fund to fight COVID-19
COVID-19 is ravaging the world. Governments and public institutions are pulling out all stops to suppress the spread of this pandemic. On the mitigation side, National Task Force for COVID 19, constituted by ICMR, recommended the use Hydroxychloroquine for prophylaxis of SARS-CoV-2 infection for high risk population under medical supervision.
Laurus Labs Limited extended its support to Governments of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh in the fight to save the lives of those affected or may affect due to COVID-19 spread in both the states.
Dr Satyanarayana Chava, Founder & CEO of Laurus labs accompanied by Executive Director Chandrakanth Chereddi and Krishna Chaitanya Chava, Executive Vice President of Laurus Labs donated 1 lakh Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablets IP 200mg, as mitigation initiative as well as a cheque of Rs 50 lakh for supporting other suppression measures in the state of Telangana.
Similarly in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Narasimha Rao Chava, Vice President of Laurus Labs met District Collector & Magistrate and donated 1 lakh Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablets IP 200mg as mitigation initiative as well as a cheque of Rs 50 lakh for supporting suppression measures.
Nevertheless, at this moment, the expert consensus that we need is a good balance of suppression and mitigation initiatives to beat this virulent disease. It is a long and hard battle ahead for all, for the people and for the governments across the globe.
