Larsen & Toubro wins orders worth Rs. 1,296 crore
Engineering and construction mammoth, L&T has won orders worth Rs. 1,296 crore.
The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro has bagged these orders across various business segments. Metallurgical and Material Handling business has won orders worth Rs. 808 crore from Hindalco at Rayagada, Odisha and JSW at Dolvi, Maharashtra. Further, Water & Effluent Treatment business received orders worth Rs. 488 crore from Karnataka Power Corporation for the execution of a water supply pipeline from Narayanpur reservoir to Kushtagi in the Krishna basin.
During the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019, the company has received orders worth Rs. 36,100 crore. As on Q1FY19, the company’s order book was at Rs. 2,71,700 crore. Out of these total orders, the orders from the domestic market contributed almost 74 per cent and rest from the international market.
In Q1FY19, the company’s revenue surged almost 19 per cent from the corresponding quarter of last year to Rs. 28,283 crore. Infrastructure segment contributed majorly to this revenue with revenue share of almost 43 per cent, followed by services at 28 per cent.
Meanwhile, the stock of L&T was trading at a flat note on the bourses. At 14.07 hours, the stock was trading at Rs. 1290 per share, near its previous close of Rs. 1291.4 on Monday.
