Jain Irrigation secures orders worth Rs. 584 crore
Jain Irrigation Systems, India’s largest micro-irrigation company, bagged orders worth Rs. 584 crore from the Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited, a division of Water Resources Department of Karnataka, through National Competitive Bidding. The order pertains to an Integrated Micro Irrigation Project in Karnataka.
Previously, the company has successfully completed several projects of a similar nature across the country. The project is constructed on Resource to Root, a concept founded by the company for the fulfilment of the objectives of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY) concerning both 'Har Khet Ko Pani' and 'Per Drop More Crop'. The initiative is undertaken with the expectation of bringing reforms in the irrigation sector.
The project in question is built on the distinctive concept of integrated lift cum drip irrigation project which is executed on a massive scale in canal command areas. The purpose of the project is to improve water use efficiency in canal command areas through conduit distribution and to use the Drip Irrigation System from the main canal onwards.
Jain Irrigation Systems is engaged in providing solutions relating to agriculture, piping and infrastructure through manufacturing of micro irrigation systems, PVC pipes, plastic sheets, tissue culture plants and much more.
On Thursday, the shares of Jain Irrigation Systems opened at Rs. 66 per share and hit a high and low of Rs. 67.50 and Rs. 64.30, respectively. The stock closed at Rs. 66.25, up 2.40 per cent.
