ITI Limited wins Rs 2,658 crore MahaNet order
The company has received Letter of Intent (LoI) from Bharat Net project in Maharashtra. ITI Limited has be selected as the Project Implementation Agency (PIA) for implementation of BharatNet Phase II for two packages, A and C.
The project MahaNet plans to digitally connect over 13,000 grampanchayats to blocks through underground or aerial optical fiber and provide broadband connectivity using IP-MPLS technology-based device. The network will offer broadband coverage through Wi-Fi hot spots.
ITI Limited will cover 18 districts, 110 talukas and 8,695 grampanchayats. The scope of the project includes laying of underground and aerial optical fibre cable (OFC) including site survey, planning, procurement, design, implementation at talukas and GPs as well as maintenance of the network.
Reacting to the development, the stock of ITI Limited closed at Rs. 92.00 per share, up by 1.83 per cent on Monday. While the BSE Sensex was at 38,896.63, up by 202.52 points or 0.52 per cent.
