Indo Count has contributed towards Project Gigaton since its inception for reducing GHG emissions through various initiatives such as installation of solar plant, and reduction in freshwater consumption via a water recycling plant.

One of India’s largest home textile manufacturers, Indo Count Industries recently announced that the company has been recognised as one of the ‘top performer’ suppliers at Walmart’s Global Sourcing Sustainability Summit held on July 15, 2021.

Walmart launched Project Gigaton in 2017, with an aim to inspire suppliers to reduce upstream & downstream (beyond-the-shelf) greenhouse gas emissions from the global supply chain. Indo Count has contributed towards Project Gigaton since its inception for reducing GHG emissions through various initiatives such as installation of solar plant, and reduction in freshwater consumption via a water recycling plant.

Project Gigaton’s goal is to reduce one billion metric tonnes, or one Gigaton, of CO2 emissions from the global supply chains by 2030. In additional to these sustainability initiatives, as an organisation, Indo Count is also supporting Walmart’s commitments to sustainable fibres as well as recyclable/sustainable packaging.

Over the years, the company has successfully carved out a niche for itself and become a total bedding resource. The company’s annual capacity is 90 million metres and exports to more than 50 countries globally.

The share price of Indo Count Industries hit a 52-week high of Rs 228.25 during the early market hours on Friday.
