Indigo zooms up 2 per cent on addition of flights
InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) has expanded its network in the northeastern region. The shares of the company were trading 2 per cent up around noon post the news.
The airline company has launched direct daily flight services to Silchar in Assam from Kolkata. The flights in the route will start from September 20, 2019. Silchar is the eighth location in the northeast connected by IndiGo that has launched direct flights to Shillong, Agartala and Dibrugarh recently.
Recently, IndiGo has entered into a partnership with a global travel aggregator that will allow the latter's users to book tickets of the budget carrier's flights. The partnership with Skyscanner, one of the world's leading travel search engine will enhance access to Indian destinations and also place them more prominently on the world map.
InterGlobe Aviation provides air transportation services in India and internationally. The company primarily operates IndiGo passenger airline.
The shares of the company on Wednesday opened at Rs. 1,490 against Tuesday’s close of Rs.1,491.65. At 11:49 hours, it was trading at Rs.1,516.50, 1.67 per cent higher than its previous close. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 1,524.25 and intraday low was Rs. 1,471. Its 52-week high was Rs. 1,716 and 52-week low was Rs. 697 per share on the BSE.
