Indian Army enters an MoU with NHPC
NHPC, a miniratna public sector enterprise, has entered an MoU with Indian Army to construct tunnels at China and Pakistan border areas for storage of ammunition and other war-related equipment.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), NHPC will construct tunnels near the borders with China and Pakistan for storage of war equipment, ammunition etc. Under the pilot project, there will be three tunnels that are to be built on the China border, while one will be built along the Line of Control with Pakistan.
NHPC is engaged in the business of generation and sales of bulk power. The company also involves in building contracts, project management and consultancy works. NHPC’s total installed capacity has reached to 7071.2 MW from 24 projects including JV, Solar and Wind.
Presently, NHPC is engaged in the construction of three projects aggregating to a total installed capacity of 3,800 MW including 1000 MW (Pakal Dul HE Project) being executed through JV Company. In addition, 12 projects with an aggregate capacity of 7,835 MW are under clearance stage which includes 7 Schemes of NHPC’s own projects and 5 in JV mode. Further, 2 projects with an aggregate capacity of 780 MW are in S&I stage and 3 projects aggregating to 581 MW are in Pre-S&I stage.
On Friday, stock ended trading session at Rs. 23.50, higher by 1.73 per cent on BSE. The benchmark indices BSE Sensex ended session with stellar gains of 340 points at 39071.
