The NSE benchmark Nifty saw a wobbly start and, thereafter, it slipped lower for the major part of the trading session. However, in the second half of the session, the index took support around its crucial 78.6 per cent retracement of the rally from July-August and closed the session above the 11,000-mark. The price action formed a bull candle with long lower shadow, which indicates buying interest at lower levels. On Wednesday, the level of 11,044, which is the 100-D SMA, is likely to act as an immediate resistance followed by 11,110. On the downside, the levels of 10,930, followed by 10,800, are likely to act as a supports for the index. In the coming trading session, we expect volatility to stay elevated ahead of the outcome of RBI monetary policy review meet. Hence, we are of the view that the index is likely to move in the broad range of 10,800-11,170. However, a failure to hold the 10,800-mark and a close below this level could lead to extension of the corrective phase.
