HUL up by 2 per cent on sales volume growth
FMCG major Hindustan Unilever’s share price surged by over 2 per cent on the bourses on Tuesday as the company posted a spurt of 11 per cent in its sales volume for the fourth quarter of FY18. The net sales of the company grew to Rs. 90.03 billion in the fourth quarter of FY18 from Rs. 87.73 billion in the same quarter of FY17.
The company posted a 14.2 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs. 13.51 billion in Q4FY18 on a year-on-year basis, while its EBITDA margin improved by 240 bps to 22.5 per cent in the same quarter. The company is likely to extend its growth in the coming quarters by reaping GST benefits and gaining from the boost to the rural economy.
The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1,543.25 per share and an intraday low of Rs. 1,512.50 per share on BSE on Tuesday. The stock had touched its 52-week high of Rs. 1,543.25 per share on May 15, 2018 and its 52-week low of Rs. 974.80 per share on May 15, 2017 on BSE, respectively.
At 11:41 hours IST, the stock was trading at Rs. 1,517.55 per share, higher by 0.84 per cent on BSE on Tuesday. Meanwhile, S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 35,876.08 level, higher by 0.90 per cent.
