HCL Tech gears up to build independent IT organisation for ABB Power
HCL Technologies, which is a leading global technology company, announced that it has signed a multi-year contract with Hitachi ABB Power Grids, a leader in digital energy solutions, to build a new greenfield digital foundation as part of a global transformation programme.
In the ambit of this engagement, HCL will assist Hitachi ABB Power Grids to launch a new, efficient and modern independent IT organisation. This contract aims to reduce dependency on the historic ABB IT services infrastructure and help in continued business transformation. Hitachi AMM Power Grids is a result of the joint venture between Hitachi and ABB to create a new global leader in pioneering power and digital technologies.
As part of the contract, HCL has taken responsibility to provide hybrid cloud services, digital workplace services, next-gen network services, unified service management, and cybersecurity services. Further, benefitting from HCL’s ‘cloud smart’ offerings, Hitachi ABB Power Grids will form an adaptive portfolio with innovative cloud services backed by intelligent automation as well as a powerful partner ecosystem. Hitachi ABB Power Grids will enhance its operations in 90 countries and improve end-user experiences for its 36,000 employees globally.

On Wednesday, the share of HCL Technologies was trading at Rs 902.65, which is 0.19 per cent up on BSE.
