HBL Power posts poor results
HBL power reported subdued growth across the board. The operational performance was largely weak.
Total revenue for the quarter declined by 6.3 per cent to Rs. 414 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs. 442 crore in previous year corresponding quarter. This was largely due to decline in batteries segment revenue to Rs. 340.45 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs.382 crore in Q4FY17.
The EBITDA for the quarter declined sharply by 24.5 per cent yoy to Rs.22 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs.29 crore in Q4FY17 and Rs.37 crore in Q3FY18. The margins for the quarter also contracted to 5.3 per cent in Q4FY18 vs 6.5 per cent in Q4FY17.
The net profit for the quarter also declined by 57 per cent yoy to Rs. 5 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs. 11 crore in Q4FY17.
For the full year revenue grew by 6.2 per cent to Rs. 1,624 crore. The EBITDA for the year declined by 2.5 per cent yoy and margins contracted by 70 bps. Lastly, the net profit also declined by 12.3 per cent yoy to Rs. 30 crore in FY18.
