Gufic Biosciences gets patent certificate

Gufic Biosciences Limited has been given a patent certificate from the Patent Office, The Government of India, for Parenteral Formulations of Levosimendan.

The patent has been granted to the company for the invention for Parenteral Formulations of Levosimendan for the term of 20 years from September 4, 2015, in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970.

The said invention provides an alcohol and acid free pharmaceutical composition for parental administration, comprising Levosimendan or pharmaceutically acceptable salt, thereof, as an active ingredient with a suitable solubilizing agent and an alkalizing or buffering agent, and the process of preparation, thereof. The invention further discloses freeze-dried pharmaceutical compositions, comprising Levosimendan, wherein, the freeze-dried product include water content less than 3 per cent.

The company has informed BSE that the meeting of the company's Board of Directors is scheduled on December 3, 2019, that is, today to approve the unaudited financial results for the quarter ending September 30 of FY20.

On Monday, the stock of Gufic Biosciences closed at Rs. 68.20. On Tuesday, it opened at Rs. 69.90, up by 2.5 per cent.
