Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Wednesday's trading session kicked off on a pleasant note. At 12.51 pm, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the positive territory at 58,539.30 and 17,471.65 levels, increasing by 1.03 per cent & 0.84 per cent, respectively.
Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, and Maruti emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which surged 3.46 per cent, 2.72 per cent & 2.30 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, and ITC turned out to be the top losers, which slipped 2.00 per cent, 1.98 per cent & 1.24 per cent, respectively.
