Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Tuesday's trading session kicked off on a pleasant note. At 12.35 pm, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the positive territory at 57,749.99 and 17,266.15 levels, increasing by 0.27 per cent & 0.26 per cent, respectively.
Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, and HDFC emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which climbed 2.37 per cent, 2.36 per cent & 2.13 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, ITC, IndusInd Bank, and State Bank of India turned out to be the top losers, which slipped 0.86 per cent, 0.65 per cent & 0.62 per cent, respectively.
