Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Friday's trading session on a flat note. At 12.14 pm, Sensex was trading at 57,291.64 level, plunging 0.53 per cent while Nifty tumbled 0.56 per cent to be at 17,126.95 level.
Reliance, Bharti Airtel, and Kotak Mahindra Bank emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which climbed 0.60 per cent, 0.35 per cent & 0.34 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Titan, Maruti, and Power Grid turned out to be the top losers, which tanked 3.49 per cent, 1.95 per cent & 1.83 per cent, respectively.
