Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Thursday's trading session in the red zone. However, at 11.29 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the green zone at 57,785.02 and 17,277.60 levels, inching higher by 0.17 per cent & 0.19 per cent, respectively.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories, UltraTech Cement, and Tata Steel emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which soared 3.36 per cent, 1.45 per cent & 1.39 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Titan, and HDFC Bank turned out to be the top losers, which tumbled 2.32 per cent, 1.67 per cent & 1.00 per cent, respectively.
