Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Wednesday's trading session on a positive note. At 11.43 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the green zone at 58,026.85 and 17,323.10 levels, inching higher by 0.06 per cent & 0.04 per cent, respectively.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, and ITC emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which soared 3.27 per cent, 1.15 per cent & 1.06 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Maruti turned out to be the top losers, which tumbled 1.74 per cent, 1.49 per cent & 1.26 per cent, respectively.
