Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened flat on Tuesday. At 11.07 am, Sensex tumbled 0.34 per cent at 57,096.95 level while Nifty slipped 0.41 per cent to be at 17,047.20 level.
The top gainers of the day include Reliance, Power Grid, and Tech Mahindra, which advanced 1.75 per cent, 1.15 per cent & 0.83 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever, Nestle, and Asian Paints turned out to be the top losers, which tanked 3.57 per cent, 2.95 per cent & 2.06 per cent, respectively.
