Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Friday's trading session in the red zone but soon after that, both were spotted trading with gains. At 11.37 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were seen in the green zone at 55,614.46 and 16,641.25 levels, climbing 0.27 per cent & 0.47 per cent, respectively.
The top gainers of the day include Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, and Bajaj Finserv, which inched higher by 2.50 per cent, 1.64 per cent & 1.47 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Nestle, Maruti, and Hindustan Unilever turned out to be the top losers, which tanked 1.35 per cent, 1.21 per cent & 0.71 per cent, respectively.
