Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened the first trading session of the month of February in the positive territory. At 11.21 am, Sensex was spotted at 58,860.61 levels, up by 1.46 per cent while Nifty climbed 1.32 per cent to be at 17,569.30 levels.
The top three gainers include Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank, and ICICI Bank, which soared 5.37 per cent, 3.70 per cent & 2.69 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Dr Reddy's Laboratories and State Bank of India turned out to be the top two losers, which plunged 0.33 per cent & 0.31 per cent, respectively.
