Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened the second trading session of the week on a flat note with positive bias. At 11.42 am, both the benchmark indices were trading in the positive territory i.e. at 60,583.76 and 18,053.20 levels, inching higher by 0.31 per cent & 0.28 per cent, respectively.
The top three gainers of today's session include HCL Tech, HDFC, and Sun Pharma, which advanced by 3.76 per cent, 1.53 per cent & 1.24 per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finance turned out to be the top three losers, which plummeted 1.75 per cent, 1.31 per cent & 1.24 per cent, respectively.
