Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Friday's trading session on a strong note. At 11.39 am, Sensex was trading at 59,920.80 levels, up by 0.54 per cent while Nifty advanced 0.56 per cent to be at 17,844.55 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, which surged 1.92 per cent, 1.56 per cent & 1.32 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, and HDFC turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 1.59 per cent, 1.22 per cent & 1.05 per cent, respectively.
