Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Tuesday's trading session on a positive note. At 11.23 am, Sensex was seen trading at 59,429.75 levels, up by 0.42 per cent while Nifty inched higher by 0.39 per cent to be at 17,694.75 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include NTPC, Power Grid, and State Bank of India, which surged 3.61 per cent, 2.32 per cent & 2.18 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Infosys, IndusInd Bank, and UltraTech Cement turned out to be the top three losers, which tumbled 0.85 per cent, 0.81 per cent & 0.79 per cent, respectively.
