Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Friday's trading session in the green zone. At 1.56 pm, Sensex was trading at 58,339.92 levels, up by 0.94 per cent while Nifty inched higher by 0.98 per cent to be at 17,372.15 levels.
Titan, UltraTech Cement, and Kotak Mahindra Bank emerged as the top three gainers today, which surged 3.43 per cent, 2.46 per cent & 2.17 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, and Power Grid turned out to be the top losers, which tanked 1.73 per cent, 0.46 per cent & 0.32 per cent, respectively.
