Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened the second trading session of the week on a positive note. At 11.53 am, Sensex was seen trading at 57,841.85 levels, up by 0.73 levels while Nifty inched higher by 0.78 per cent to be at 17,219.00 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, and L&T, which soared 2.28 per cent, 2.01 per cent & 1.88 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Power Grid, IndusInd Bank, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories turned out to be the top losers, which plunged 1.29 per cent, 0.61 per cent & 0.20 per cent, respectively.
