Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened Wednesday's trading session on a positive note. However, at 12.15 pm, both were spotted in the red zone. Sensex was trading at 57,863.95 level, down by 0.44 per cent while Nifty tumbled 0.42 per cent at 17,251.80 level.
The top three gainers of today's session include Kotak Mahindra Bank, M&M, and Axis Bank, which inched higher by 1.69 per cent, 1.23 per cent & 1.07 per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and TCS emerged as the top three losers, which tanked 2.32 per cent, 1.87 per cent & 1.49 per cent, respectively.
