Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Thursday, the domestic benchmark indices opened in the green but thereafter, drifted towards the red zone. However, at 12.29 pm, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted back in the positive territory, up by 0.04 per cent and 0.03 per cent at 58,674.14 levels & 17,475.85 levels, respectively.
Asian Paints, Larsen & Toubro, and Reliance emerged as the top three gainers today, which surged 1.99 per cent, 1.87 per cent & 1.64 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Titan, HDFC Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 1.88 per cent, 1.63 per cent & 1.53 per cent, respectively.
