Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Wednesday, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, opened in the green zone, and even at 11.33 am, both were spotted in the positive territory. While Sensex climbed 1.51 per cent and was seen trading at 58,502.01 levels, Nifty inched higher by 1.46 per cent to be at 17,427.70 levels.
Almost all the stocks of BSE Sensex were seen trading in the green in the first half of the trading session. However, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, and Bajaj Finserv turned out to be the top three gainers, which soared 2.88 per cent, 2.77 per cent & 2.39 per cent, respectively.
