Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On the first trading session of December month, both Sensex and Nifty opened on a positive note. At 12.03 pm, Sensex was seen trading at 57,816.52 levels, up by 1.32 per cent while Nifty climbed 1.27 per cent to be at 17,198.75 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, and Maruti, which soared 5.85 per cent, 3.52 per cent & 3.51 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries & Power Grid Corporation turned out to be the top losers, which plummeted 1.67 per cent, 0.98 per cent, and 0.17 per cent, respectively.
